Carnival celebrations begins in Montecristi

As an example of folk expression of the people

BREAKING NEWS: Montecristi.- The organizing committee of the carnival in this city to presented Miss Montecristi Carnival 2010 and the King Momo, for the folklore of this event dedicated to the memory of the deceased culture professor José Gabriel Datt, who made significant contributions to this activity.

Yunelsi Perez, 19 years old, represents Montecristi, for her talent, youth, beauty and intellectual contributions in the cultural line, and Mr. Jose de la Cruz, known as Jose mask, is King Momo, who for long years has engaged in garment manufacturing and carnival masks.

The organizing committee of the Montecristi Carnival 2010 is composed by  Leorcardio Martinez, Fausto Perdomo, Laurín Vasquez, a representative of the Ministry of Culture, the trustee Nacho Martínez, Governor Dr. Alejandro Toribio, among others.

The Carnival of Montecristi is characterized as the most original of the Caribbean and the world.

Senator gives beds to Montecristi Hospital

He sponsored the orchestra El Jeffrey at the Carnival

BREAKING NEWS: Montecristi.- Senator of Montecristi, Heinz Vieluf Cabrera donated 90 beds to hospitals in the province.

The ceremony was led by the coordinator of the political office of Senator, architect Robert Fernandez and health authorities in the region presided over by Dr. Agustín de la Cruz.

The beds were received by the Regional Director of Public Health, Dr. Agustin de la Cruz, director of hospital and health center Padre Fantino, Dr. Braulio Reinoso among other authorities the health sector.

Vieluf Cabrera, speaking through his representative, noted that these beds will be distributed to hospitals in Manzanillo, Guayubin Castanets, San Fernando de Montecristi and Villa Vasquez.

With that, the legislature continues to develop its social works program Fernandez said the architect.

In another, within the celebration of Carnival in Montecristi, Senator sponsored the orchestra El Jeffrey that entertained all afternoon carnival and distributed hundreds of free tickets to children who rode on the rides.
