The Ministry of Environment succeeds in avoiding the depredation of Bubies birds

BREAKING NEWS : Thanks to the protection, monitoring and supervision program of the bubies birds that live in the Cayo los Siete Hermanos of Montecristi, entities of the Dominican state, headed by the Ministry of Environment, have succeeded in avoiding at 100% the depredation of the specie, and to increase by 90% the nests, at the same time the population passed from 11 000 to 20 000.

It’s the Minister of Environment, Jaime David Fernández Mirabal, who gave these information, after presenting the final report of the programme developed in the Wild Life Refuge, composed by seven islets.

He added that the results showed for the year 2009 an increase in reproduction concerning the different species, showing the success of the supervising work developed by the entity.
