Tourism informs about new projects in MontecristiFor 4 billion dollars

BREAKING NEWS: The secretary of Tourism, Francisco Javier García, indicated that in the province of Montecristi, one carried out an important Israeli tourist project thanks to an investment of 4 billion dollars.

The project which is in its final stage includes an all-inclusive hotel, nine hotels with wiew on the beach and thirteen with casino included.

He stressed that the investors counted on the legal security in Dominican Republic to make this type of investments, in addition to the fact that they saw as an advantage that the country has a free commercial treaty with the United States.

He moreover indicated that all the obsolete laws concerning the investments had been amended to the National Congress, which, as he declared, had created additional guarantees for the foreign investments in the country.

García stressed that during his ten months of management, the greatest investment carried out was in the zone of Bávaro.

He supported that 54% of the tourists who visit the country are coming to Bávaro.

He explained that there existed several investments approved by the Council of Tourist Promotion (CONFOTUR) where one submits the projects of the investors who acquired the lands and who obtained the various licences required by the country.

He said that between October of the last year and June of this year, CONFOTUR approved 81 projects, which roughly add up 16 billion 300 million dollars.

He expressed that 40% of this investment corresponded to Spanish investment, 26% to Dominican investment, 22% to American investment and afterwards to a range of Canadian, Venezuelan and Russian investors.
