JICA and INAPA reaffirm the Project of Water Supply

Project of Water SupplyFor the provinces of Montecristi, Dajabón and Elías Piña

The Executive Director of the National Institute of Drinking Water and Sewers (INAPA) and the representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in the country, directed a ceremony in order to follow up with the water supply Project for the Montecristi, Dajabón and Elías Piña provinces, which is developed in both directions.

During the ceremony that took place in the Botoncillo community, of Villa Vásquez, Montecristi, the engineer Mariano Germán and Tadashi Ikeshiro reminded that this project was developing since 1997, for an investment of 175 millions pesos, which enabled the supply in drinking water of more or less 35 communities.

This project, who was inaugurated by President Leonel Fernández on March 7th, 1997, counts with several systems, and each one brings great benefits to the inhabitants of the western region of the country.

It includes an water supply system thanks to motorized water pumps, composed by an elevated tank, a submersible well pump and a small house with public keys.

Mariano Germán thanked JICA for its collaboration and its solidarity, and promised to keep doing all is possible to help and contribute every day for the improvement of the life conditions of this border provinces’ residents.
