BREAKING NEWS: MONTE CRISTI.- All the communities that form the province of Montecristi were blocked since the Monday in the morning, with hundreds of vehicles, inorder to claim for the coninuation of the reconstruction works of the roads and paths of the zone, that were freezed 9 months ago.

The buisness, education and transportation activites were stopped to, following the action in more than 23 localities of the area, and the streets were taken to play dominos o volley-ball. The freeze of the activities affected the binational market in Dajabón too, since the traders were not able to deliver their products to the maket.

The action was organized by the Movement for the Development of Montecristi (Modemo), headed by Tony Ramos who explained that the conflict will not end until the Ministry of Public Works start again the reconstruction works of the roads Villa Villa Vásquez, Castañuelas, Manzanillo, Copey, Gozuela, Santa María, Carnero, Las Matas de Santa Cruz, Guayubín and Monte Cristi.

The general Miguel Raúl de la Cruz Reyna, regional director of the Police, informed that the Minister of Public Works Víctor Díaz Rúa, commited himself to visit this Wednesday the province in order to start the works of the roads Villa Vásquez-Monte Cristi-Dajabón.

BREAKING NEWS: MONTECRISTI.- After a meeting with the civilian, military and police authorities, the movement that started a peaceable manifestation to claim for the construction and reconstructions of roads in the province of Monte Cristi, decided to give some time to the authorities.

The information was revealed by the priest of the Parish San Fernando de Montecristi, Tony Ramos, who explained that after the analysis of the promise made by the Ministry of Public Works to send teams to start works, they decided to give one week to the authorities.

The Father Ramos added that in case the authorities do not respect the agreement, the movement would start again in the area of the Yaque del Norte bridge, and in other points, as the entry to other municipalities.

BREAKING NEWS: Montecristi -. The Secretary of Public Works met with authorities and popular organizations of Montecristi and announced the resumption of asphalting work of various ways in the North-western area.

Víctor Díaz Rúa, in meeting with the Governor of Montecristi, Alejandro Toribio; the priest Tony Ramos and with civil and military authorities, reaffirmed that asphalting work and of pavement of the main roads of the North-West area and of the streets of the villages of the zone will start again during this week.

The civil servant indicated that this institution was involved in the execution of the greatest asphalting program that the government never carried out.
